About Fulidhoo.com

An independent guide to one small Maldivian island, written to be useful.

Fulidhoo.com exists to answer the questions people actually ask before a trip to a Maldivian local island: how to get there, what the rules are, where the sharks are, what to book, what it costs and where to sleep.

What we cover

The island of Fulidhoo and everything visitors do from it: the harbour where nurse sharks and stingrays gather, the bikini beach and the village, snorkelling and diving in Vaavu Atoll — including the Alimatha night dive and the channels of the outer reef — sandbanks, neighbouring islands, and Malé as the gateway. Practical pages cover transport, seasons, local customs, costs, itineraries and accommodation.

How we work

Practical details are checked against official and primary sources where they exist — Maldivian government and transport information, published tax rules, the operators and properties themselves — and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings, review counts and “from” prices come directly from GetYourGuide; accommodation listings from Booking.com.

Ferry timetables, boat fares, taxes and opening hours in the Maldives change. Where something is liable to change we say so, and we link to live prices rather than printing figures that will date. We are not affiliated with any of the islands, operators, resorts or public bodies mentioned.

How the site is funded

The guide is free to read. When you book a tour or a place to stay through our links we may earn a commission, at no cost to you. That never decides what we recommend — see our affiliate disclosure.
