Fulidhoo Itineraries: 3, 5 and 7 Days

How to fit sharks, sandbanks, dolphins, dives and a resort day into a short or longer stay.

Fulidhoo rewards slowness. The island is tiny, but the sea around it holds enough for a week — and the weather sometimes decides for you. These plans leave room for that.

3 days: the essentials

  • Day 1: morning flight into Malé, shared speedboat to Fulidhoo. Settle in, walk the village and go to the harbour at sunset for the nurse sharks and stingrays.
  • Day 2: half-day snorkel-and-sandbank trip in the morning; afternoon on the bikini beach; dolphin cruise or sunset fishing; ask about Bodu Beru.
  • Day 3: early swim, then the speedboat back to Malé. With time before your flight, take a Malé city tour or a short snorkel from Hulhumalé.

5 days: add the depth

  • Days 1–2: as above.
  • Day 3: divers: two-dive trip and the Alimatha night dive. Non-divers: a longer snorkel trip to turtle and nurse-shark sites, or a Discover Scuba session.
  • Day 4: island-hop to Felidhoo or Keyodhoo, or a resort day visit for lunch and the house reef.
  • Day 5: slow morning, back to Malé; airport lounge or a beach club if your flight is late.

7 days: local island + resort

  • Days 1–5: as above, with a spare day for weather or a second dive trip to Fotteyo or Miyaru Kandu.
  • Days 6–7: move to a resort island in Vaavu or near Malé for a couple of nights, or to another local island, before flying home.

Tips for planning

  • Keep the last day light: do not dive within 18–24 hours of flying, and allow for a weather-cancelled boat.
  • Morning flights home may mean returning to Malé or Hulhumalé the evening before.
  • Visiting on a day trip only? Book a Fulidhoo day tour from Malé or Maafushi.
  • Book your room first — see where to stay — then the transfer.

Itineraries: FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is one night on Fulidhoo enough?

One night lets you see the harbour at sunset and do a morning trip, but with boat transfers it is rushed. Two or three nights is the sensible minimum.

Can I combine Fulidhoo with Maafushi?

Yes; many travellers do. Connections depend on the ferry days and speedboat schedules, so plan transfers through Malé or ask guesthouses about direct boats.

Should I end my trip at a resort?

It is a popular way to finish: a few nights of local-island life and diving, then a resort for the overwater-villa experience.
