The Best Fulidhoo Tours, Ranked

Seventeen bookable experiences, in the order we would book them.

We ranked these with one question in mind: if a friend wanted to see what makes Fulidhoo special — the sharks, the rays, the sandbanks and the reefs of Vaavu — which bookable trips would we recommend, and in what order?

Trips that actually come to Fulidhoo and Vaavu are at the top; short trips and extras for your day in Malé follow. Ratings and review counts are from GetYourGuide at the time of writing; many of the Vaavu trips are new and have few reviews yet. Prices are indicative “from” prices in euros and will be shown in your currency when you click through.

What you will book on the island instead

Once you are on Fulidhoo, your guesthouse and the island’s small operators will offer the trips that are not online: sandbank picnics, snorkel trips to nurse-shark and turtle spots, sunset fishing, dolphin cruises, Bodu Beru evenings, resort day visits within Vaavu and scuba dives with Vaavu dive centres, including the Alimatha night dive. Prices depend on how many people share the boat.

Read the excursions guide for what each involves and the snorkelling and diving guide before you choose.

Choosing a tour: FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Which is the single best trip for Fulidhoo?

If you are staying on Fulidhoo, a half-day snorkel-and-sandbank trip from the island. If you are not, the full-day nurse-shark and Fulidhoo stingray tour from Malé.

Why do some trips have no reviews?

Many Vaavu products on GetYourGuide are recent. They are real, live listings; read the itinerary carefully and check the cancellation policy.

Are private trips worth it?

For four or more people the cost per head comes down, and you control the timing — useful for families and photographers.

Which trips suit non-swimmers?

Sandbank stops and harbour visits are in shallow water; dolphin cruises keep you on the boat. Ask for a life jacket on any snorkel trip.
